Fruit Juice Production Line
A complete fruit juice line, from fruit intake to filled bottle, specified as one system so the pulping rate and filling rate match.
Key Specifications
| Capacity | 2 - 20 tonnes fruit per hour |
|---|---|
| Output | 1,000 - 10,000 L finished juice per hour |
| Scope | Intake, washing, pulping, blending, pasteurising, filling |
| Brix control | Inline refractometer, ±0.2 degrees |
| Pasteurisation | 95 degrees C for 30 seconds |
| Filling | Hot fill, aseptic or chilled |
| Yield | 55-75 percent depending on fruit |
Match pulping to filling, not the reverse
Fruit arrives in batches and juice leaves continuously. The pulping rate must exceed the filling rate, with buffer tankage sized to the harvest rhythm, or the line stops every time a fruit batch is finished.
Blending determines consistency
Natural fruit varies in Brix and acidity week to week. Inline refractometer plus acid titration before blending holds the finished product within specification regardless of the raw material.
Waste streams need a plan
Peel, seed and pomace are 25-45 percent of intake. Without a plan for them, the line stops when the waste pile grows, which is a common commissioning failure.
Typical Applications
- Regional juice plants — Complete lines from fruit intake to packed product for a single site.
- Fruit cooperatives — Processing members' fruit into branded juice rather than selling raw fruit.
- Beverage plants adding juice — An upstream addition to an existing filling plant.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much fruit per litre of juice?
About 1.5-2 kg of fruit per litre of single-strength juice, depending on fruit and yield.
Can it run multiple fruits?
Yes, with CIP between fruits. Changeover is two to four hours including cleaning.
What buffer capacity do I need?
Four to six hours of finished juice, which decouples fruit batch arrival from filling.
