Juice Processing Line

A juice line that covers extraction, deaeration, pasteurisation and filling, with the oxidation control that decides whether the product keeps its colour and vitamin content.

Deaeration protects colour and vitamin C

Dissolved oxygen degrades ascorbic acid and browns juice within weeks. Vacuum deaeration down to 0.05 mg/L before pasteurisation is what separates a bright product from one that darkens on the shelf.

Hot fill versus aseptic

Hot filling at 95 degrees C suits acidic juice below pH 4.0 and needs no aseptic line, which is why it dominates PET juice. Aseptic filling allows lower acid products and larger formats but costs significantly more.

From-concentrate needs accurate Brix control

An inline refractometer with automatic water dosing holds Brix within 0.2 degrees. Manual blending drifts and either wastes concentrate or produces a product outside specification.

Typical Applications

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need aseptic filling?

Only for low-acid juice or large formats. Acidic juice below pH 4.0 is stable with hot fill.

How much vitamin C is lost?

Under 10 percent with deaeration plus short-time pasteurisation, against 30-40 percent without deaeration.

Can the line handle pulp?

Yes, up to about 10 percent pulp with the appropriate filler valves and a pulp pasteuriser.
