Seal integrity is the whole product
A cup that leaks in a shrink pack destroys the whole tray. Seal temperature, pressure and dwell must be held within a narrow window, and the seal head must be flat within 0.05 mm or one side of the cup will not bond.
Fill accuracy and overfill cost
At ±1.5 percent on a 150 g cup, overfilling by 2 g across a million cups is two tonnes of product. Accurate piston filling pays for itself faster than most breweries expect.
Rotary versus inline
Rotary machines hold higher speeds with fewer operators; inline machines change formats faster and cost less below 6,000 cups per hour.
Typical Applications
- Yoghurt and dessert producers — The standard format for set and stirred yoghurt in retail cups.
- Sauce and condiment packing — The same machine fills portion cups for food service.
- Dairy alternatives — Plant-based yoghurt fills on the same equipment with a recipe change.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can it fill chunky products?
Up to about 8 mm pieces with a piston filler and enlarged ports. Larger pieces need a volumetric cup filler.
How is seal quality checked?
By destructive pull tests at start of shift plus an optional inline pressure sensor on every cup.
What cup materials work?
PP, PS and PLA. PLA needs lower seal temperature, so the recipe differs.
